Meet the Rocket Boot Teachers
The team of Rocket Boots Theatre Teachers and Practitioners are performers, directors and creators who have a passion and desire to instill the art and joy of theatre in young people. We teach in a number of schools across South London.
Rebekah is an actress and drama facilitator who trained with the National Youth Theatre and at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Rebekah is passionate about working with young people; preparing students for LAMDA exams, leading workshops in drama and performance and directing productions. She also trains young people in interview techniques. Working with young people in developing their skills in performance and communication is a privilege and she is proud to be the Director of Rocket Boots Theatre; working with talented and interesting young people and collaborating with dynamic drama facilitators. Acting credits include theatre productions across the UK with regional theatre companies as well as children's theatre, most memorable is playing Sophie in the BFG. TV credits has seen Rebekah playing a variety of characters in productions for the BBC, Channel 4, Kudos, ITV, Greenlit Productions, Coastal Productions, Touchpaper Productions and Sky.
Josephine Rattigan trained at Bristol Old Vic theatre School and the National Youth Theatre. Teaching and working with young people is a rewarding and enriching vocation that fuels her passion for the arts.
Professional Credits include UK , international and USA tours . From Singapore (David Walliam’s -The first Hippo on the Moon) to Broadway and Alaska with Sally Cookson’s ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ . Shakespeare’s Rosalind’ in ‘As you like it’ to Alice in Olivier nominated ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ with Les Enfants Terribles , and ‘The Bear’ with award winning children’s theatre company Pins and Needles. Specialising in playful quality theatre for young people. Josie has performed and continues to perform across the UK theatres nationwide: Oxford Playhouse, Lyric Hammersmith and York Theatre Royal . Experienced in research and development, puppetry, improvisation and devising for young people. It is a joy to bring practical experiences into the classroom for the next generation.
Ellie studied acting at The Actors Class under artistic director Mary Doherty, and studied drama facilitating at The University of Manchester.
As well as being a LAMDA teacher Ellie is also a writer, actor and the youth theatre director at Omnibus Theatre in Clapham.
